Vicious fight between football fans captured on video

Kyle Adam Maraghy was arrested Friday without incident and charged with simple assault, police said.

PREVIOUS: Charlotte, N.C. - The NFL is investigating a fight that happened during Thursday night's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers.

Maraghy then punched the seated man in the face four times.

Maraghy was wanted after video went viral of him at Bank of America Stadium as Carolina Panthers fans were watching their team take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Charlotte police say the man on the receiving end of the punches is 62 years old. He is being transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Jail.

According to the caption in the original Instagram post, which includes objectionable language, the two men had been arguing throughout the game because the man in the Newton jersey and the woman with them refused to sit down.

Earlier Thursday, Panthers Executive Director of Risk Management Lance Emory confirmed that the club had "identified the perpetrator" and was working with local police.

The Panthers responded with a news release saying they "are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience".

The Instagram post read, in part, "The dude took offense to the couple never sitting down and obstructing his view". After a few seconds, the fan in the jersey throws multiple punches at the victim, causing a flow of blood from the man's head. "The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium".

The Panthers fan ran away while witnesses called for security, as seen on the video published on Crossing Broad.

Carrigan said the aggressor was seated in section 541 row 24 seat 10.
