Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams Stars in Marvel's New Horror Movie

The New Mutants details revealed: X-Men franchise goes horror

20th Century Fox is introducing the world to The New Mutants with the release of the film's official trailer. What's scarier, seeing Arya Stark in danger, screaming for her life, or the familiar sounds of a Pink Floyd classic playing in the background? However, it noticeably lacked any connections to Fox's larger X-Men franchise and appearances by such fan-favorite students of Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as Karma and Warlock.

The film follows five mutants who are told they are in a hospital because they are unsafe.

Spoopy season is upon us, and if that hadn't already been made clear by all the Halloween merch that's been littering store shelves, Fox unleashed the trailer for New Mutants last night.

This looked straight out of a horror movie, one that deserved to hit theaters in October.

The movie stars Maisie Williams ("Game of Thrones") as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy ("Split") as Magik, Charlie Heaton ("Stranger Things") as Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as Mirage. Alice Braga plays Dr. Cecilia Reyes.

"Did you know baby rattlesnakes are more risky than adult ones?" If New Mutants succeeds, will it start a trend for other hero flicks like Venom in October 2018? "We haven't seen it as a superhero movie whose genre is more like The Shining".

In April of next year, we're going to get a New Mutants film-and like the comic it's based on, it's a departure from the X-Men films we've been seeing in cinemas for seventeen years.
