Florida Reveals Alternate "Swamp Green" Uniforms

LOOK: Florida will wear green uniforms for the first time ever vs. Texas A&M

The uniforms by Nike were reportedly in the works for two years.

A swamp green - used for the first time - covers the helmet, which has a satin finish.

-Swamp green gloves will have royal blue straps and accents, an orange Nike Swoosh on the back and a Gator logo on an orange palm.

The trousers and socks are also swamp green, but don't have the scaly pattern.

-Socks also will be solid swamp green, while each player's cleats are swamp green and covered in the gator pattern, with chrome orange plates.

And, of course, what custom uniform is complete without special shoes?

The school tweeted out several photos of the uniform combo on Wednesday that got more attention for the live alligator in the photos, posing just feet from the uniform model on the field of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. And in these new gator hide monstrosities-designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "The Swamp"-Florida has crafted their very own pigskin Picasso".

Florida could be without five starters and key playmaker Kadarius Toney against Texas A&M on Saturday. A swamp is hot and sticky and can be risky. Jim McElwain is 13-2 at home after going unbeaten in unbeaten in "The Swamp" past year.
