Liverpool Dealt Massive Sadio Mane Injury Blow Ahead Of Man United Clash

Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho is on the Ballon d'Or shortlist

The Liverpool winger was substituted in the 89th minute of Senegal's 2-0 victory over Cape Verde at the weekend, and his club have now confirmed he picked up a hamstring problem.

Liverpool FC forward Sadio Mane will be unavailable for the visit of Huddersfield Town on October 28. The six-week time-frame rules him out of seven Liverpool matches, with a Champions League clash at Sevilla and a Premier League match with Chelsea following swiftly after.

Mane has scored three goals in five Premier League appearances this season and has just returned from a three-match suspension.

The injury is especially badly timed for Klopp with Liverpool's bitter rivals Manchester United visiting Anfield on Saturday.

Sane's value to Liverpool has been huge since his move from Southampton in 2016, but he has struggled to stay fit.

Mane tore the meniscus in a knee during April's Merseyside derby against Everton which prematurely ended his season and required surgery.

They also lost each leg of their League Cup semi-final to Southampton 1-0 and, after a goalless draw and 1-0 win against Argyle, exited the FA Cup 2-1 against Wolves.

The 25-year-old Mane has already missed three matches this term after being shown a straight red card for catching Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson with a high boot in last month's fixture.
