Kate Middleton makes first public appearance since pregnancy announcement

The Duchess of Cambridge has debuted her royal baby bump, appearing in public for the first time since it was announced she is expecting her third child. Middleton attended a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark World Mental Health Day, according to The Sun.

Through their Heads Together campaign, the trio of royals has taken up the cause of mental health awareness, and today's event celebrates "the contribution of those working in the mental health sector across the United Kingdom".

Despite still suffering from severe vomiting (hyperemesis gravidarum), she looked relaxed and was showing signs of a tiny baby bump.

Kate's previous public appearance was on was August 30, when she toured the Princess Diana garden at Kensington Palace with William in advance of the 20th anniversary of Diana's death.

For the past few weeks, Duchess Kate has been on bed rest due to a severe form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum. "The Duchess is delighted to be here tonight".

The royal couple - who are already parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte - have been joined by Prince Harry at the reception recognising mental health workers.

If Kate Middleton is absent since the announcement of her pregnancy, her return has recently been announced.

"I think it really made an impact on people, seeing them be so emotionally literate".

Harry, who on Monday launched a new initiative that will see Armed Forces personnel receive training created to make them mentally as well as physically fit for combat, said the campaign would also be announcing new programmes in schools and workplaces in the coming year.
