Eastern Florida State College will waive out-of-state tuition rates for students from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who are leaving their hurricane-ravaged homes and moving to Florida. So a team of Scientology Volunteer Ministers was happy to work with Puerto Rico Representative Jorge Navarro Suárez, helping him hand out supplies to people in outlying areas of his district.

The officers will deploy for two weeks before returning and being replaced by a next group of 10 officers.

After the Category 5 hurricane made a direct hit on Puerto Rico and ravaged the island for over 30 hours, US aid has been slow in developing. She believes she can to do her part by volunteering her time in events such as the Global Café.

While many Puerto Ricans are bilingual, college officials say classes are available to help Spanish-speaking students learn English. The FDA said medicines and medical devices account for about 30 percent of Puerto Rico's gross domestic product, and about 80 percent of those products are used by residents of Puerto Rico and the 50 states.

"We have 12,300 DoD personnel here in Puerto Rico, more than 600 FEMA and more than 2,000 EMACs from 25 states in Puerto Rico serving through the emergency", he said, adding that the hospital ship USNS Comfort is serving around Puerto Rico with a capacity of about 1,000 patients. "The need is unimaginable, and as Central Floridians we need to do all we can to help our brothers and sisters on the island", said Daryl Tol, president and CEO of Florida Hospital and Central Florida Division - Adventist Health System.
