Auburn's Quarterback Had More Than A Little Too Much Fun This Weekend

White began his position as quarterback for the Auburn Tigers in 2015 before his dismissal today.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn announced Monday that Sean White had been dismissed from the team after the backup quarterback was arrested Sunday and accused of public intoxication.

The incident occurred just hours after the conclusion of the first game White dressed for this season. The 21-year-old just finished serving a two-game suspension for undisclosed reasons. Despite continually expressing support for Stidham and his team, White had a rocky start to the 2017 season.

And the Tigers only needed him to be the backup after bringing in Jarrett Stidham, the former star Baylor freshman who made his pledge to Auburn on December 10 and won the job on August 14. "We appreciate his time at Auburn and wish him nothing but the best", Malzahn said.

White's release from Auburn Football follows he arrest over the weekend and a two game suspension.

By the end of that stretch, the Boca Raton, Fla., native led the SEC in both completion percentage and efficiency rating. The former walk-on out of Mississippi Delta Community College made his Auburn debut with White suspended Week 1, completing 1 of 2 passes for minus-1 yard late against Georgia Southern.

White found himself limited in the most recent spring practice due to injury and lost the QB job to Stidham on Aug 14.
