Cult US actor Harry Dean Stanton dies aged 91

Stanton was great friends with Jack Nicholson and they once lived together in Laurel Canyon, Virginia. Many remembered him as a brilliant character actor; others recalled how warm, humorous, and welcoming he was.

Was an honor, man.

Stanton has been a staple on the big and small screens for seven decades.

Harry Dean Stanton wasn't a leading man type, but he was versatile and could play complex characters in any genre. We could see in The Godfather II and Coup de coeur de Francis Ford Coppola, Alien - the eighth passenger of Ridley Scott, The last temptation of Christ of Martin Scorsese, She's so lovely, and Alpha Dog by Nick Cassavetes, ... I loved directing him and I will miss him. "It's so great just to sit beside Harry Dean and observe", Lynch said at the show. "Thank you for the gift of your films, your music, and your being. Rest in Peace. Poet".

Harry Dean Stanton was a wonderful man, kind and full of humor.

Stanton has participated in more than 70 films and several or television series, including Twin Peaks, David Lynch. He was also a great actor.

Harry Dean Stanton was shining as the first plan. If you need a better idea of how great Stanton was at his job, film critic Roger Ebert once said, "No movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh in a supporting role can be altogether bad". "There went a great one.everybody loved him". There's nobody like Harry Dean.

Stanton often played haggard men with battered souls, Turner Classic Movies said in its description of him. Stanton revealed to the New York Times, "I was telling him I was sick of the roles I was playing". Andie's dad tried, he really did, and Stanton was just so honest in this role you couldn't help but want to hug him a million times over even when his daughter was having an angsty moment.

And, finally, the official Twitter account for the film tweeted out a lovely dedication to its star, which you can read below. Most recently he appeared in Twin Peaks: The Return, continuing the storyline of the character he portrayed in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, and he will also be appearing in John Carroll Lynch's Lucky, which arrives in theaters this fall. "I don't act like their father, I act like their friend", he once told NY magazine.
