The singer, who just celebrated his 24th birthday on WEDNESDAY (9/13), has unveiled the album's cover, tweeted about a new single, "Too Much To Ask", and announced plans for an extensive USA and CANADIAN tour in 2018.

"The Flicker world tour is coming to you summer/autumn 2018", Horan tweeted to his 33.8 million followers.

Zayn Malik cast away One Direction's squeaky-clean image to go for a sensual, urban vibe, while Harry Styles surprised critics with an album that sounded influenced by 1970s David Bowie.

But it wasn't until now that the new album was announced.

Flicker is scheduled for release on October 20.

"I can't wait to get back on the road and play this album for you". "[It] kinda changed my mind on where I was taking it hence the fact it's quite chilled out from what you'll hear in a few weeks".

At midnight of the same day, Horan also shared a treat for fans and released a new single called "Too Much To Ask".

According to Billboard, Niall's previous songs, both debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. Morris will join Horan's tour as the opening act. He launched his solo career with the singles "This Town" and "Slow Hands".
