CBI to probe Pradyamun's murder; state to control school for 3 months

Khattar added that the management of the school will be taken over by the state government for the next three months. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar made the announcement after meeting the family members of Pradyuman Thakur who was found with his throat slit in the school washroom last Friday.

He also gave in to the parents' demand and said that the case will be handed over to the CBI.

Pradyuman's parents Varun and Jyoti Thakur - had sought a CBI probe into the matter.

This comes just a day after the Gurugram Police had detained the school's gardener, Harpal Singh, a key witness in the murder of Pradhyumn, and said it's "likely" to arrest more persons. The Chief Minister, who met the family members of seven-year-old Class 2 student Pradyuman, assured that culprits will be brought to book and justice will be done.

"This incident (the murder of Pradyuman) was unfortunate".

"The Haryana government chose to take over the management of the school after the fact-finding sub-committee in its reports found various irregularities with regard student security inside the school premises", Vinay Singh said. The lawyer of the main accused, Ashok Kumar, meanwhile said his client has denied any involvement in the murder. His wife claims he has been forced to make the confession. He added that he had directed the CBI to probe the alleged murder, which took place near the school toilet. Their demand is for the safety of children in general.

A report by a Special Investigation Tribunal had stated that the CCTV cameras of the school were not working properly and were not installed everywhere.

He also stated that under the Startup policy the Haryana Government will develop Two lakh square meter land, and said, "We have created two funds of fifteen and 100 crore for startups".

He said that in case of non-compliance, action would be taken.
