New England Patriots 2017 Opponents, 5 First Impressions of the Saints

New England Patriots 2017 Opponents, 5 First Impressions of the Saints

Both teams are looking for their first win of the 2017 campaign.

The Patriots, the +450 favorites (bet $100 to win $450) to win the Super Bowl, can cover the spread against the Saints because they are the Patriots, plain and simple. In just 10 games as a rookie, Cooks had 53 catches for 550 yards, including an electric National Football League debut with seven catches for 77 yards, an 18-yard rush and a touchdown. "His personality, each day you know exactly what you're getting and that's a good thing". The defense gave up big plays for touchdowns and the offense, despite scoring 27 points never got untracked. The Patriots lost at home to the Kansas City Chiefs 42-27.

The Patriots bought two jets this summer to fly their team and staff to away games. Obviously we know what [Travis] Kelce is as a tight end - arguably one of the best tight ends in the league. He's got great talent, but he's even a better person and he's young, he's professional, he's diligent, he's very competitive. Just imagine what Brady and the high-powered Patriots offense can do against them.

Coincidentally, another solid-yet-unspectacular former No. 1 overall pick was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Like the Loss of Edelman, the Saints Felt the Loss of Snead: Watching the Saints in the opener, one couldn't help but notice that the New Orleans passing game was missing their slot receiver Willie Snead in this one. Since then, the spread has climbed to 7 points and the total to 54.5 with 63% of the bettors favoring the Patriots and the remaining 37% for the Saints.

There are all kinds of reasons to believe the Saints' performance on defense vs. the Vikings was anything but aberrational.

So while as bad as last Thursday night was, Sunday afternoon in New Orleans has the potential to be the complete opposite and be a jumping off point for the entire season. Are some of Brady's other weapons ready to step up in his absence?

"I don't think like that", Cooks said.

"It's a lot of studying", Dorsett said. Even though the Patriots didn't look good as a whole, newly acquired Brandin Cooks did alright in his debut.

"I just love the time I've had with him", Brady said on a teleconference Wednesday.

Whether it was the Patriots' successful attempt to trade for wide receiver Brandin Cooks or the Saints' unsuccessful attempt to acquire cornerback Malcolm Butler, the two teams found themselves linked quite often.

That proved to be the case for much of his first three seasons. "I feel like when you start to get hyped up too much, you start to psyche yourself out".

With Brady winning his fifth Super Bowl title, throwing only two interceptions all year, and cementing his legacy as the greatest quarterback of all time in the minds of many, the fact he was at the top of his game in his opinion isn't all that surprising. Brady was sacked three times, but twice during the team's weird final offensive drive when trailing by 15.
