Sopranos actor Frank Vincent dies aged 78

Actor Frank Vincent died Wednesday morning from complications suffered during surgery, according to TMZ. "Another devastating loss - my close friend and colleague of 30 years Frank Vincent has left us", Gallagher wrote.

Vincent played Tony Soprano's enemy Phil Leotardo in The Sopranos, one of his many wiseguy roles.

Five years later, Vincent's Frankie exacted revenge on Pesci's Nicky Santoro in Casino in another memorable murder scene.

He was born in MA and was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. "He had a job to do and he thought, you know, 'This Soprano guy is from Jersey, what does that mean?"

In addition to his working alongside James Gandolfini on The Sopranos, Vincent also starred in several Martin Scorsese films, including Goodfellas and Raging Bull. Vincent also acted in two Spike Lee films, "Do the Right Thing" and "Jungle Fever".
