Barcelona Ask Philippe Coutinho to Refuse to Face Sevilla in Champions League

The report claims Barcelona have made an "underhand" request to the Brazilian asking him not to feature in the Champions League for Liverpool this season.

- Klopp says Coutinho is available for selection in the Champions League this week.

There are footballing reasons to start Philippe Coutinho against Sevilla on Wednesday, with the player having played 30 minutes for Brazil twice over the recent global break and while perhaps not ready to go the full 90 minutes at least ready to play 60 should J├╝rgen Klopp decide to start him.

The Brazil worldwide was embroiled in a transfer saga, with Barcelona chasing his signature, throughout the summer and skipped the start of the campaign citing a back injury and illness.

Midfield: Klopp may decide to play two in central midfield with Emre Can dropping in alongside skipper Jordan Henderson to help counter the attacking threat of a unsafe Sevilla side. Expectations at Anfield are higher now, but Liverpool look far from a complete team as they prepare to face Sevilla once more, this time in the Champions League. All those opponents are beatable and they should have additional motivation to win this first game against Sevilla at Anfield.

Manager Juergen Klopp oversaw his heaviest Premier League defeat as 10-man Liverpool were beaten 5-0 at the Etihad, after forward Sadio Mane was sent off for a high challenge on City goalkeeper Ederson in the 37th minute.

Liverpool will host Burnley at Anfield in their league match on Saturday.

'I could [give you an idea], but I'm sure all the Liverpool supporters around the world are ready to wait another 24 hours, ' Klopp said.
