Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone spotted on GeekBench

Xiaomi's upcoming phone in India will be the first in an all-new series

The Xiaomi Mi 5s is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, and this variant of the handset ships with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The smartphone was running on a build of Android v.7.1.2., Nougat which is most likely at stock.

The OnePlus 5 managed to find its way to our GearBest discounts list today, and so did two Xiaomi-branded smartphones, the all-new Xiaomi Mi 5X, and the company's flagship smartphone for a year ago, the Mi 5s. So, Xiaomi is launching their new smartphone series in India with their new smartphone model. However, there might be a secondary sensor at the back of the Mi Mix 2 because several rumours tipped at a dual camera setup for the Mix 2. Also, there is a noticeable Mi 6 watermark as well, indicating that the picture was taken from the Xiaomi Mi 6. As an Android One phone, it effectively comes under Google's wings, which means it will receive software updates more reliably than Xiaomi's regular MIUI-powered devices.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s is the most powerful smartphone Xiaomi released in 2016. The smartphone will be unveiled on September 11, just a day prior to the launch of the iPhone 8. But, it is noteworthy that Snapdragon 836 chip is yet to be official and Mi Mix 2 is launching on September 11, which is next week.

Going by a Facebook video post by the designer, the Mi Mix 2 will nearly be bezel-free, with thin lines on three sides and a slightly bulkier bezel at the bottom.

Although the upcoming phone might be launched with the name "A1" in India and other regions, it might resemble with the Mi 5X in terms of design and of course, the 'flagship dual cameras'.

It's been less than a year since the release of the Mi Mix but the second generation smartphone has been one of the most talked about this year since Xiaomi was one of the first to give customers that fantastic display that had only been seen on phones such as the Sharp Aquos.

Xiaomi's Twitter handle has now clarified that it's introducing a new series in India.
