Opening For American Horror Story: Cult Features Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton

'American Horror Story: Cult' Cast Attends Cher's Vegas Show!

Watch the opening sequence below at your own discretion.

In addition to the creepy imagery during the American Horror Story Season 7 opener, there are many political references included in the credits, such as the flag. As promised, AHS creator Ryan Murphy has brought back the original sequence that Season 6 left in the Roanoke dust. Other big names who have confirmed they're taking part in the season, like Billy Eichner and Colton Hayes, were left off, leading to questions about those actors' involvement, and whether they'll be regulars or just guest stars. All of that looks mild, though, compared to the image of a dead pupper (ugh whyyyyy) that appears halfway through the sequence. That being said, including them in the credits makes a major statement. So what clues to the new season can be gleaned from this year's credits?

We've known for quite some time now AHS: Cult would focus on the 2016 presidential election cycle, but until a few weeks ago the election's role in the series was a mystery.

It's not what you think it is... Though, the season itself, she said, is created to be "more about what's going on in our world around us, the idea of paranoia".

While numerous characters have yet to be revealed, Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be playing the roles of Ali and Kai, whom he calls "a love story for the ages", meaning that the two American Horror Story fan favorite actors will be playing love interests for a second season in a row, which many die-hard fans are looking forward to seeing. I'm still more interested in seeing how this cult is going to play into the hinted-at gas attack.
