'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' mints over Rs 13 crore on opening day

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has witnessed a decent opening at the Box Office on opening day.

The report also talked about how Toilet - Ek Prem Katha will see a release in various untapped non-traditional territories inlcuding Japan and Chile.

It has now come to light that Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is doing well even on Saturday [Day 2] and has registered around 20-25% growth.

Shree Narayan Singh directorial film "Toilet Ek Prem Katha" is a satirical comedy Bollywood flick which supports PM Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It has been made with limited budget of Rs. 18 crore and is released in 3000 screens in India.

Hitting 600 screens in overseas, the newly released Indian movie could attract a good number of audiences. At a time when films are bitting the dust at the box office, Akshay Kumar's film is expected to do better this weekend. But unfortunately, it could not go past Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal first day collection i.e 15.25 Crore. "#TEPK." The collection is less than the day 1 collection of Jab Harry Met Sejal.

With this we can expect "Toilet - Ek Prem Katha" to mint good money at the box office. Sat and Sun look better... Akshay and Bhumi's performance is fantastic but the movie is too long and preachy. Moreover, it has partial Krishna Janmashtami and the big Independence Day holiday lined up ahead on Monday and Tuesday.

The story of Toilet Ek Prem Katha revolves around Keshav (Akshay Kumar) and Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) love story, who despite being a maanglik man find the love of his life and spend their life happily ever after getting married.
