Arsene Wenger: 'Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continuing to mature'

Oxlade-Chamberlain could end up as a team-mate of Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea this season

Chelsea have launched a £25million move for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain according to reports.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had a fantastic season for Arsenal previous year, playing in a variety of positions, including right wing, central midfield, and even as a right wing back.

However, it looks as though Liverpool could be beaten to the punch as the Daily Star claim that after seeing their initial £25m bid rejected by Arsenal, Chelsea have now tabled an improved £35m offer for The Ox.

Having seen a £25 million offer turned down by Arsenal, Chelsea have come in with a £35 million bid, according to the Daily Star and the Daily Mirror.

Antonio Conte is reported to have become infuriated with the Chelsea board's lack of progress on transfers, this summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to the Emirates Stadium from Southampton in the summer of 2011 and has since racked up nearly two hundred appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty goals.

The England global has been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea this summer, the latter of whom are reportedly prepared to hand over £25m for his signature.

"I think he's had in his career some bad moments, ' said Wenger".

Arsene Wenger has insisted he wants Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay, but if Arsenal can agree a new contract with the player or not remains to be seen.

When Arsenal fans were forced to accept after last season's disappointing Premier League campaign, which saw us miss out on the Champions League for the first time in many years, that the long serving manager Arsene Wenger would not be replaced as many of us hoped, it was with the proviso that things would change. He will continute to move up beecause the potential is there.

'Personally, I think he is a hugely talented player. Today he is conscious of his qualities.
