PSG to Offer Arsenal £80 Million for Alexis Sanchez

After seeing his current club win its seven all-time FA Community Shield over fierce West London rival, Chelsea 2-1 in penalties, is Alexis Sanchez set to leave Arsenal?

ALEXIS Sanchez will miss at least the first two games of the English Premier League season for Arsenal, with coach Arsene Wenger saying the absence is due to injury rather than doubts surrounding the forward's club future.

Now Wenger has revealed the 28-year-old will miss Friday's Premier League clash at home to Leicester as well as the trip to Stoke the following weekend.

However, the Independent reports that Paris Saint-Germain, who have only just shelled out £198million for Neymar from Barcelona, are preparing an £80m bid. "I can take a gamble on one, maybe maximum two", Wenger said. "I think he will not play at Stoke, yes", he added.

The England worldwide has struggled to secure a regular first-team place since joining the Gunners six years ago, but Wenger believes the former Southampton winger is finally starting to fulfil his potential.

'He has a little abdominal strain that he caught on Sunday in training before he came to Wembley, ' said Wenger. "I can't tell you that at the moment".

Asked if he expected Al Khelaifi to get in touch, Wenger replied: "No, no".

"When a player goes into the final year of their contract we will try to extend the contract because there is no reason we shouldn't do it, but we are not there yet". "We have all the other players prepared in preseason and they are all ready". I remember watching him at Bournemouth last season and he looked angry. Wenger says he has not had any contact with PSG over Alexis Sanchez.

But he is no closer to shifting those deemed surplus to requirements as he believes many Premier League clubs are in the same position.

With Laurent Koscielny suspended, Gabriel still nursing a knee injury and Shkodran Mustafi not yet match fit following his late arrival to pre-season training it means Wenger has limited options at the back.
