Gov. Jim Justice to switch from Democrat to Republican at Trump rally

The president promised a big announcement was coming at the West Virginia rally.

Jim Justice will switch affiliation from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party at President Trump's rally in the state Thursday night, according to a Republican official familiar with the announcement.

While speaking with reporters earlier today, President Trump announced a, "very big announcement" during his appearance at Huntington's Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Justice, who was until 2015 was registered as a Republican, is one of the last remaining Democrats elected to statewide positions in the state.

West Virginia went for Trump by a 42-point margin.

Justice has referred to Trump as a family friend, and occasionally texts and hunts with Trump's son Eric Trump. (Alaska Gov. Bill Walker is an independent.) Republicans control three levels of government in 25 states, compared to just six for the Democrats. I believe I'll be making it in West Virginia, so that will be an exciting.

"We're hoping to see good news", Manchin said. That is apparently to come at an event in West Virginia.
