Rounding out the top five this week is romantic comedy The Big Sick, which stars and was co-written by Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani.

Superhero smash Wonder Woman comes in sixth with $6.8 million.

Overseas, Apes opened to $46-M from 62 markets for global debut of $102.5-M. "Wish Upon" was directed by John R. Leonetti, the film features Joey King, Ryan Phillippe, and Ki Hong Lee. Broad Green averaged a weak $2,483 from 2,250 locations from just the U.S.as Canada did not open this weekend.

Cars 3 was down 41% to $3.2 in its fifth weekend. The likely domestic finish is around $155 million.
