Man Utd midfielder Herrera: Real Madrid are 'most powerful team'

The Real Madrid forward was linked with a big-money move to Manchester United, as club manager Jose Mourinho had identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was released by the Old Trafford outfit this summer.

Herrera proved pivotal to the success of United last season, establishing himself as a key player within Mourinho's well-knit side. However, United failed to reach an agreement with Los Blancos over his transfer fee and instead signed Lukaku in a deal worth around £75m.

"Too bad he is not with us but I wish him well".

"He's happy and I know this is going to sound repetitive because I always say the same but David is one of the few keepers who wins you points", said the midfielder.

It is also claimed in the same story that Herrera will end up captaining Manchester United for most of the campaign, with official skipper Michael Carrick set to see his playing time limited.

After all, Herrera paid up his contract at his previous club to move to the Premier league and join Manchester United.

The shot-stopper has once again been reported to be a target for Zinedine Zidane's club this summer but teammate Herrera does not want to lose De Gea to the La Liga club.

So not only was there little or no chance of signing Herrera but he then has the audacity to rub Real Madrid's current superiority in our faces!

"It's a shame he's not with us but he's a top striker and will do well wherever he plays". "I think he's going to stay", Mata insisted.
