Teenager Arrested Following A Series Of Acid Attacks In London

London men on moped acid attacks Hackney four locations eighteen minutes

The assaults involved the pair attacking other moped riders and allegedly stealing two bikes.

Following an attack in June on 21-year-old aspiring model Resham Khan and her cousin Jameel Muhktar, a petition on Change.org demanding that the UK Parliament require individuals purchasing acid to hold a special license now has nearly 370,000 signatures.

Speaking on LBC Radio Friday, Metropolitan Police Chief Cressida Dick hit out at the "barbaric" attacks and said police were working with the Home Office to restrict the sale of substances used in acid attacks.

Acid appears to be finding favour with gangs and individuals to settle disputes and launch attacks, as simple bleach products and drain unblocker is available cheaply in shops without checks and carrying it does not incur penalties, like knives do.

At 10.25 last night, police officers were called to Hackney Road junction where a 32-year-old man was suffering from facial injuries.

Then at 11:05pm, another victim was hospitalised after reports that a corrosive substance had been thrown in the face of another man on Shoreditch High Street.

Advice will also be issued to police on preventing attacks, searching potential culprits for harmful substances and supporting victims.

At 11:37pm, a man in his mid-20s had his moped stolen after two men pulled up alongside him and squirted a noxious liquid in his face in Chatsworth Road, Clapton.

"I am clear that life sentences must not be reserved for acid attack survivors", she said in a statement.

Authorities reported the attacks were carried out by two male suspects riding on a moped, and during the fifth and final assault of the night, the suspects' moped was stolen and the attackers fled the scene.

The victim was taken to a hospital in east London. The victim was admitted to a hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. One of the attackers stole the victim's vehicle and the other made off on the moped they arrived on. "My family's scared. They were asking me to leave that job, but I love that job".

All five victims suffered injuries in the attacks, though none of them were in life-threatening condition.

He was to a north London hospital and we await an update on his condition.
