The Incredibles 2 story details and cast revealed at D23

Incredibles-2

"Incredibles 2" will be in theaters June 15, 2018. Bird confirmed that there would be new heroes showing up "with incredible powers that rival The Incredibles".

When Friday's Pixar and Disney Animation panel at D23 kicked off, it opened with a sizzle reel containing extremely short clips from some upcoming films, and few glimpses got a bigger reaction than the title card forThe Incredibles 2.

Pixar's Chief Creative Officer #JohnLasseter talked about the movie in an interview with IGN, and talked about The Incredibles 2, and more specifically when it would be taking place.

Although it's been a long time, I wouldn't want this movie to come back unless they got it all right.

As previously announced, we learned the sequel will start right where the original film left off.Where the original focused on Bob's journey, this is going to be about the entire family including Jack Jack.

"It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece", said Lasseter said. It may only be a fun way to start the film and show off the Parr family's superheroic teamwork.

It'll be like most of the audience hasn't waited more than half of their life to see this movie!

Lasseter invited Cooley to the stage, revealing that the "Riley's First Date?" helmer has assumed full responsibilities of the film. "This one carries on that theme", Lasseter added. Inconceivable, Holly Hunter as Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet, Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone, Brad Bird (the executive) as Edna Mode and John Ratzenberger as The Underminer. But since it's been more than a decade since they last recorded, the voice actor for Dash has since been replaced. On the other hand, it's also possible that future Pixar movies don't necessarily have to be set in our time period.

Fandango managing editor Erik Davis tweeted that "They just showed a lineup if like 25 new superheroes for The Incredibles 2".

However, Mr. Incredible isn't anxious about the damage.

If they do go the "rival" route it would certainly be an interesting shift from the first film, which featured a wannabe hero who turned into a villain; going this route could allow The Incredibles 2 to feature multiple villains while having the main conflict be between two rival teams of heroes.
