Shepard Smith - "lie after lie after lie"

Shepard Smith -

In an outburst rarely seen from a news anchor, Smith, spoke with colleague Chris Wallace on Friday afternoon.

Fox News is not exactly a strong critic of the Trump campaign's apparent collusion with Russian Federation.

Though Fox News is dominated by unhinged conspiracy-mongers (Hannity, Sean) and disingenuous outrage-peddlers (Carlson, Tucker), the network retains a few "real" journalists who function as a reputational fig leaf for the network, just so people don't get the impression that it's all propaganda over there.

Fox News Channel anchor Shepard Smith on Friday assailed the "mind-boggling deception" by the Trump administration in explaining its role in the ongoing Russian Federation investigation. More. Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, the lawyer from Russian Federation, the interpreter, this new guy we found out about today, and a mystery person.

"We're still not clean on this, Chris (Wallace)".

Smith served a scathing condemnation for the Trump administration on his show "Shephard Smith Reporting" Friday.

Speaking with host Shannon Bream, Wallace expressed concern over the latest bombshell, noting that, while it might not be illegal, the continuing flow of leaks that undercuts the White House narrative.

"They tell us there's nothing to this", Smith said, building steam, "that nothing came of it, it's a nothingburger, it wasn't even memorable, I didn't write it down, didn't tell you about it because it wasn't anything so I didn't even remember it!" "If you come on clean - my grandmother used to say, 'oh, the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive'".

While discussing this new information, Wallace commented to Smith, "Who knows if we've gotten to the end of this story?" "The deception is mind-boggling and there are still people out there who believe we're making it up".

Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manefort, also attended the meeting with Trump Jr., as did Kushner.

SMITH: Fox News can now confirm: new.
