Plot thickens absconding Appunni to be named accused

As per a TV report on News 18, Dileep is to remain in police custody. Also the police tried calling him in all his five different numbers but his mobile phone was switched off.

Dileep was taken to the Aluva sub jail soon after he unlocked the phones.

Malayalam actor Dileep, who was arrested over allegedly abducting and molestating of an actress, was denied bail by the court on Saturday, media reports said.

In his statement, Pulsar Suni has stated that Dileep received the mobile phone including the visuals of attack against the actress.

Meanwhile, officials of the Enforcement Directorate visited the Police Club at Aluva on Friday morning to collect documents pertaining to the financial transactions and land deals of the actor.

Although the prime accused, Pulsar Suni, was nabbed by the police within a few days, there was suspicion that the crime had a conspiracy behind it. When asked, Dileep told the court that he had no complaints against the police.

Police had taken the 48-year-old actor, arrested on July 10, to various places in Kochi, Thrissur and Thodupuzha to carry out their investigation. Dileep has been remanded till July 25.

Reports suggest that investigators had conducted a raid at Dileep's residence on Saturday to get the visuals of the abducted actress which were captured by main accused Pulsar Suni and his gang when she was assaulted in a moving auto near Athani in Angamaly on February 17. Dileep is accused of hiring goons on "quotation" basis to assault the actress over alleged personal rivalry. More people from film industry will be quizzed under the case.
