Indian troops kill three Kashmiri youth in Tral

A police official said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire on security forces

"The third militant holed up inside a cave in the densely-forested Satoora area of Tral tehsil (of Pulwama) has been killed and the gunfight has now ended. They probably belonged to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit", a police official said here.

Earlier in the day, two terrorists were killed by the forces. A police official said that militants lobbed a grenade at a joint party of police and CRPF near Grid Station in the town, 70 km from here.

The encounter comes a day after Indian security forces in arrested one local militant from Sumbal area of Bandipora district in northern part of Kashmir on Saturday.

Jaish-e-Mohammed Saturday said three militants killed by forces in Tral belonged to its outfit and claimed their "mission" would be taken to the logical end.

The encounter is presently going on and the bodies of the terrorists were yet to be recovered, a senior official told media. The operation is still underway.

The encounter started with the militants at around 8:00 a.m. The security forces have also recovered some arms and ammunition.
