'Walking Dead' Season 8 teaser photo shows a tense reunion

Shooting is off and running on the eighth season of The Walking Dead over in Georgia, and today we have our first official photo from the upcoming run, which will start in October.

While the past few seasons have seen several characters off on their own volition, it seems as if this war will bring characters back together. The #2 drama on cable in the US, Fear the Walking Dead, is executive produced by Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert, and produced by AMC Studios.

Speaking about the new season to EW, showrunner Scott Gimple teased it'll see more characters bumping into one another, saying: 'The season finale past year, seeing all the characters together interacting as one, was thrilling.

Carol can be seen clad in the same armour she donned to help King Ezekiel and his people fight back against Negan in the season seven finale.

Although the image isn't giving much away, we can see that the pair are somewhere outside of the confines of the communities, in some sort of suburban area. "Even Aaron merely giving Jerry an apple felt satisfying", showrunner Scott M. Gimple gushes.

I'm kidding, obviously. Daryl does feature in this image but the reunion in question is between him and Carol (Melissa McBride).

Of course, as TV Guide notes, this isn't a real reunion between the two characters, who have been around since Season 1 of the show, as that occurred in Season 7, when Daryl inadvertently convinced Carol to come out of hiding.

Filming for The Walking Dead Season 8 began back in May, however information has been slow to trickle in.
