Spanish club look to future with Ceballos signing — Real Madrid

Ceballos suffered early set backs in his career but established himself as a star at Betis

Real Madrid has completed the signing of Spain Under-21 midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Betis on a six-year deal.

As anticipated by AS last Sunday, the Sevillian star - who was player of the tournament at the recent U-21 European Championships - underwent his medical for Los Blancos on Monday, Betis giving authorisation for this to take place.

Financial terms were not disclosed, although reports in the Spanish media put the fee at 16.5 million euros ($18.8 million).

Real say Ceballos will join the team on their pre-season tour of the United States on Friday, July 21, after being unveiled the day before. Find us on Facebook too!

"Real Madrid and Real Betis Balompie have agreed the transfer of the player Dani Ceballos, who will be connected to the [Bernabeu] club for the next six seasons".

Barcelona and Juventus were among the clubs rumoured to be interested in the Spanish Under 21 global, but a move to the Bernabeu was always the most likely outcome. Since then there has been much talk and other clubs - including Barcelona, Atlético and Juventus - have all thrown their hats into the ring to sign the promising youngster.

He joins just days after James Rodriguez left for Bayern Munich.
