Fellow 2 Live Crew member Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell wrote on Twitter, "My condolence goes out to the family Chris Wong Won Fresh Kid Ice of the 2 Live Crew who just passed away people we lost a legend".

Fresh Kid Ice is noted as one of the first prominent Asian rappers and is the only 2 Live Crew member to have appeared on all of the group's albums.

Fresh Kid Ice - has died at the age of 53.

In addition to being an energetic outfit, 2 Live Crew were considered unsafe for their time, freely and graphically rapping about sex and misogyny before such practices were widely adopted by other rappers. 2 Live Crew co-founder Fresh Kid Ice is dead. A judge ruled he violated federal obscenity laws. The group burst onto the Miami hip-hop scene in the mid-1980s and were known for their explicit hits and parodies.

Before getting into music, Fresh Kid served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

Campbell, also known as "Uncle Luke", posted a tweet Thursday morning about the death of "Fresh Kid Ice".

The group disbanded after their 1998 album, The Real One, but Won continued to release music as a solo artist.

In 2015, Fresh Kid Ice released a memoir, My Rise 2 Fame: The Tell All Autobiography of a Hip Hop Legend.

He was involved in a auto crash in 1988 and suffered a stroke on Thanksgiving in 2008. The incidents impaired his speech and movement, but he eventually taught himself how to walk and talk again.
