3 people dead in Gardendale; police search for gunman who ran into woods

Three people have reportedly been killed at a mobile home park in Alabama.

Gardendale Police have released a photo of the suspect, who they identified as 51-year-old Kenneth Lever.

Officials believe he is now traveling in a vehicle he had in waiting, possibly a 1986 black Chevrolet Camaro or a white Honda Accord Florida with Florida tag number Y92FV.

Crime Scene: Police issued a shelter-in-place alert for Gardendale on Wednesday morning, but now say they believe the shooter has fled the area.

Gardendale police, Kimberly police and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have set up a perimeter.

The Gardendale Police Department posted on its Facebook page that it is "working an active shooter situation".

Authorities searched for an armed man Wednesday following a shooting at an Alabama mobile home community near Birmingham. The girl, according to public records, had been seeing a therapist and the therapist called the mother with concerns.

Police in Lower Windsor Township confirmed they arrested Lever in 2015 on child sexual abuse charges. 'My daughter has a different disposition when she returns home, ' the woman wrote.

According to local news, Lever now has charges against him in Pennsylvania for sexual abuse of a minor.

He is current free on $200,000 bond in those cases.
