New Yorkers line up for blocks to honor slain police officer

Officials moved to approve the $4 million for bulletproof police vehicles after Officer Miosotis Familia was gunned down in the Bronx last week. Her sister said, "Miosotis was such a good person, a good mother, hardworking".

A New York Police officer was killed in what is being called in "unprovoked attack" while sitting in a marked patrol vehicle Wednesday morning.

On July 1, Bonds' girlfriend took him to St. Barnabas for psychiatric treatment, and he was released that same day, Boyce said.

A hospital spokesperson said St. Barnabas will fully cooperate in the investigation and said that all procedures were followed regarding its evaluation of Bonds during the time he was in its emergency room.

On Friday, Familia's oldest daughter, Genesis Villella, 20, released a statement, "She was incredibly amusing".
