CNN Resignations A Sign Of The High Stakes In Covering Trump's Administration

James O'Keefe Project Veritas video appears to show CNN producer admitting that Trump Russia narrative is mostly BS

The story was replaced with an editor's note of apology to Anthony Scaramucci, the Trump aide who was investigated in the story. "CNN stands by our medical producer John Bonifield", it said.

The story, published Thursday, laid out the latest in the ongoing reporting saga of President Trump and hotly-contested ties to shadowy Russian officials.

Sanders said, "if the media can't be truthful and report the news, then that's a risky place for America". On Monday, CNN Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta complained on the air about White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer holding the daily briefing off-camera and barely calling on any CNN reporters for the past two weeks, while regularly calling on a Fox reporter. Bonifield notes that at a staff meeting, CNN's CEO congratulated his reporters for their coverage of the Paris accords, but then said "let's get back to Russian Federation".

Meantime, a conservative provocateur posted a video Tuesday of a man identified as a CNN producer commenting on his network's coverage of President Donald Trump and connections to Russian Federation. "Ratings way down!" he tweeted Tuesday morning.

He said it's all about ratings, and that CNN's ratings are up due to the Russophobia. "You have no real proof, you have no smoking gun". A secret video captured by James O'Keefe of Project Veritas shows that all that is being done for the sake of good ratings.

In response to this very damning video, CNN issued a short statement. O'Keefe and his website have a long history of aiding Republican causes, often with the use of hidden cameras. Creamer's firm recently sued Project Veritas alleging the sting violated federal wiretap law. That story did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted.

While Trump was attacking the cable news network for publishing the story, the man who the story was aimed at, Anthony Scaramucci, had nothing but compliments for CNN.

"In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story's publication". "There are multiple other instances where that outlet that you referenced has been repeatedly wrong and had to point that out or be corrected", Sanders said of CNN. What about all the other phony stories they do? "They're all fake news".

Before going into the details of Trump's reaction on social media, it is necessary to know a bit more about the story that led to the resignations.
