We celebrate Easter year-round

Today commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave and his ascension to heaven.

So, while all Christians in the northern hemisphere celebrate Easter on the first Sunday after the full moon of spring, the calendars they use to determine the date are different.

"I will be speaking about the victory of Easter and how that victory transforms our lives", Bell told the Telegram on Friday. "The objective of this rally is to tell the people of Kolkata about the resurrection of Christ".

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com recently reported that former presidential aide, Dr Doyin Okupe says Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan trusted the wrong people when he was in power.

The Rev. Raymond Privott serves not only as pastor of Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount but also as a member of the Edgecombe County Board of Education. For Western churches, it can fall anywhere from March 22 to April 25, while the Orthodox Easter dates range from April 4 to May 8.

"Easter should give us hope and give our lives meaning", Privott said.

Whilst there are many people who think that the Christian faith and the message of Easter is increasingly irrelevant in the modern world, there are many who testify that this is not the case.

Wendorf said Easter is "the critical event upon which our Christian faith is built upon".

How blessed we are to know that and to be able to celebrate the fact that even when the world seemed to have given up on Jesus, God reminded them in a powerful way that indeed He is in control.

Easter celebrations are preceded by the 40 days of Lent, a time of abstinence and penance. Meanwhile, Holy Saturday is celebrated as the eve of Easter and marks the day that the body of Jesus Christ was laid in the tomb. "Because Christ is living, we have the promise of eternal life if we trust in Him and invite Him to come into our hearts", Fowler said.

"Christianity is the only religion which has a leader who rose from the dead", Fowler said.
