Serena Williams Reveals She Is 20 Weeks Pregnant

20 Weeks Serena Williams appears to hint at pregnancy with cryptic message

Tennis superstar Serena Williams took to Snapchat on Wednesday to share the news that she's expecting her first child.

She captioned the photo "20 weeks", which means that she would have been pregnant when she won the Australian Open back in January.

Williams, who has played professionally for two decades, first gained the No. 1 ranking in 2002 and has held that spot for more than six years in total during her career.

But she's been inactive since her victory over elder sister Venus in the final at Melbourne Park.

It's interesting that Williams shared the happy news on Snapchat.

She has bestrode tennis like a colossus and now it looks like she may have won the Australian Open, while in the early stages of pregnancy. She won the NY marathon in November 2007 six weeks before turning 34 and 10 months after having a child.

"20 weeks", the text over the photo, which she has since removed from her story, read.

Serena previously revealed her family plans a year ago after first meeting the entrepreneur in 2015. It will mark her 317th week as the top female tennis player in the world. The world-renowned athlete got engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexi Ohanion in December.

The US Open officially tweeted the news shortly after wishing the star a big congratulations. She had been slated to play at the BNP Paribas Open but she pulled out the day it started, March 7, because of a knee injury.

She went on to reveal she and Alexis were first introduced in the romantic Italian city, and called Rome "the place where our stars first collided".

The possibility of a little one immediately sent Twitter into a tizzy about Williams, given that good friend Beyonce is pregnant with twins. She's one of three women to win a Slam after becoming a mother.
