Nintendo Switch is Nintendo's Fastest Selling Console in History

The official global sales figure will be released on April 21 - when the company reports its full year earnings for the year ended March 31. With the NPD Group's March results nigh, the Nintendo Switch has become the Japanese giant's fastest selling console in the U.S., with 906,000 units sold in March. Broken down, it was 925,000 for Switch, and 460,000 on Wii U. Surprisingly enough, that means more copies of Breath of the Wild for Switch than Switches themselves. most likely due to availability.

That said, Breath of the Wild is the fastest selling Nintendo launch game of all time. It will probably result in a mass following, similar to the Sony PS Vita and might very well become one of the must have consoles for 2017 and even beyond.

Nintendo Switch, the new home gaming system that people can also take on the go, has sold faster in its launch month than any other video game system in Nintendo history. Previous pack-in games like Super Mario World on the SNES, Tetris on the Game Boy, and Wii Sports on the Wii by definition only sold to 100 percent of console owners during those systems' crucial launch periods.

The company reasons this is because some bought the limited edition, and a second copy to play. The rendering of the game on the Nintendo Switch is astounding, with sharp and bright screens with powerful stereo speakers. Nintendo is also going to add a new color option for Joy-Cons, a Neon Yellow that will make sure everyone knows you're using a Switch and can't possibly look away from watching you do it.

Nintendo hopes that the numbers, not to mention the money, will continue to flow, especially as new titles land on the Switch.

"Nintendo always strives to offer consumers something fun, new and different". Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, claimed to have more content than any Mario Kart game ever, is coming in two weeks and ARMS will be out on June 16th, followed by Splatoon 2 on July 21st.

The Nintendo Switch is selling fast and breaking records at Nintendo.
