Seeded North Carolina ready to run vs

North Carolinas Joel Berry II reacts after making a three-point basket against Arkansas

Ahead of Sunday's game, Berry believes there is a chance that he is pulled from the game if No. 1 seed North Carolina is dominating, but he has no expectations about his playing status. The game is scheduled for a 6:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TNT.

"It took a tremendous defensive effort by our basketball team tonight. I'm not 100 percent, but I'm getting close". I did a lot of treatment today. "We know that shots might not fall, but we have to stick together". "I thought we'd really cleaned up the turnover issue, and then the last couple of games we've played, we've had some uncharacteristic turnovers". So you live and you learn in situations like that.

"I think we're just playing, and guys are following his lead". You obviously don't want to be - your dream is to win them comfortably. I'm hopeful that he will play.

"We've got to play outstanding basketball", Anderson said. "I think they do want to speed you up. So we've gotta figure out somebody to play". "We've just go to come ready to play, because we know those guys are". "We have to do it as a team- the guards, the bigs too, everbody". "We've got to strap it on".

"But Joel has been one of our leaders and not just by scoring or shooting 3-point shots, but the way he plays defense".

Forward Josh Jackson poured in a game-high 21 points versus Texas Southern, converting five of his three-point attempts to go along with his seven rebounds.

In a game that's sure to be a track meet the Tar Heels say their rebounds are what they're counting on to set them apart. The only other team Arkansas has faced in the Top 15 is Seton Hall, and Arkansas squeaked out a win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against the Pirates. He left the game, briefly, and returned after being evaluated by Doug Halverson, the team's head trainer.

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson said Barford, a junior college transfer, is taking command of the team.

Arkansas improves to 5-1 in neutral site games this season and to 13-7 in its last 20 contests away from Bud Walton Arena. The Razorbacks rank 207th nationally.

That is where the score would remain for the next six innings, as neither team could push across the go ahead run until Johnson's home run in the 12th.

"Our main focus is not to worry about what seed we are, what seed they are, because they're a great team", Meeks said. This mixture of good health and depth allows Anderson to tinker with his lineups and offer versatile looks.

It was a mostly dominant half for the Tar Heels, who grabbed 30 of the 43 rebounds to that juncture. North Carolina defeated Arkansas 87-78 and advanced to the Sweet 16. But he had 19 points by halftime in this one, helping the Tar Heels (28-7) quickly eliminate any chance of an unprecedented upset. The win was Roy Williams's 32nd tournament win and the 750th of his career.
