Jose Mourinho admits Man United signing has not surprised him

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is willing to stay with Manchester United.

Amid speculation he is holding out for a two-year contract extension at United, Ibrahimovic spoke warmly of the club and Mourinho's influence on his performances.

Ibrahimovic has netted 26 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for United this season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Mourinho said: "Zlatan is not a surprise for me".

Neville told Omnisport that he would offer the Swede a two-year deal 'because of the professionalism, the training and his commitment to the club.

"I am feeling well at United, but we will see what happens".

Despite wanting the forward to stay, United are preparing for life without him.

"There has to be a dip at some point".

Ibrahimovic already has league winners medals from Holland, Italy, France and Spain in his personal collection and wants to add England to that list.

'The reality is, I'm not quite sure that will be able to happen as he continues to get a little bit older'. While a top four finish in the Premier League is crucial, they could yet find a path back to the Champions League through the Europa League, and so Mourinho will be doing all he can to deliver further silverware between now and May.

Ibrahimovic will serve the second game of a three-match domestic suspension when United travels to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

"My family was very happy in Milan", he said.

"The bad is that at times maybe his form hasn't been as good as it was last season". It was a talismanic display from a player who has always relished the limelight. Maybe now, he has a chance to show what he is.
