Telecom Tribunal Asks TRAI To Re-examine Reliance Jio's Free Offers

Idea too has introduced a new pack which offers 14 GB of 4G data along with unlimited calls for Rs 345/month to compete with Jio Prime's Rs 303/month and Rs 499/month plans, which offer users 1GB 4G data/day and 2GB 4G data/day, respectively.

According to the latest plan of BSNL, users who do a recharge of Rs 339 can avail 2 GB 4G data per day for 28 days, making it a cool 56 GB data for 28 days instead of the 28GB offered by others.

Well, bundled packs with unlimited calls and data don't come as a surprise anymore with every other telecom operator joining the bandwagon to counter the mighty Reliance Jio. The interesting bit is that most of these promotional offers coincide with Jio's Prime Membership.

Many questions on the two offers "remain un-answered", TDSAT said in an order pronounced on incumbent operators' plea for an interim relief on TRAI holding that the first 90-day welcome offer from September 2016 and the subsequent promotional offer till March 31, 2017 for continued free voice and data were distinct. Jio's rivals including Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, RCOM unveiled upgraded unlimited calling plans with added data in this month after Jio's announced its pricing.

Now in a major embarrassment, TRAI was left red-faced when TDSAT pointed out loopholes in Reliance Jio offers. If you already have a data plan, this free data will be added to it, thereby increase your monthly limit.

Reliance Jio is offering 1GB of 4G data per day and unlimited calling to all network for free till March 31. We offer best prices to our subscribers considering the present trend of Indian telecom industry.

Airtel postpaid customers can simply download the My Airtel app either from Google Play Store of Apple App Store and click on the message that will provide you 10GB of free data for the next three months. However, please be advised that users will only get 3G speeds, unlike Airtel or Jio.
