The two men had gotten into an argument about Medina's girlfriend and the dispute turned physical, with Medina stabbing Sutter multiple times with a sword, according to the District Attorney's Office.

According to police, Medina and his girlfriend went into his bedroom and Sutter followed them in, where Medina stabbed his roommate in the abdomen.

With the series' first live action film hitting theaters next Friday, there's been no shortage of Power Rangers news.

Prosecutors had also already played a 911 recording at a preliminary hearing in October, where Medina appeared to be talking to Sutter after the stabbing: "Damn it, Josh". After additional investigation, he was charged with murder in January 2016.

One of the stars of children's show "Power Rangers" just plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

"Josh don't have that in his heart to attack anybody". Medina claims he stabbed his roommate with his sword as an act of self defense. If convicted, he would have faced life in prison with the chance of parole after 26 years.
