Hacked McDonald's Twitter Account Calls Donald Trump 'Disgusting'

The McDonald's corporate Twitter account tweeted a derogatory message to President Donald Trump Thursday morning before promptly deleting it.

The tweet was apparently a hit with McDonald's Twitter followers, quickly garnering hundreds of likes and retweets and sparking commentary and speculation about its source.

The tweet was sent shortly after 8 a.m.

Several online commenters said they would now visit a branch of the fast food chain in support after seeing the tweet.

In a response posted this afternoon, the company said: "Twitter notified us that our account was compromised".

"No two comments or tweets are the same", she says.

Corporate Twitter accounts are really just an absolute treat sometimes.

McDonald's Corporation was quick to remove the anti-Trump Tweet from its Twitter account.

The @MCDonaldsCorp account posted a tweet indicating that the controversial tweet was not something the company approved. People have been tweeting at McDonald's, offering to buy 12 McGriddles or 100 McNuggets for the post to go back up. Bustle has reached out to McDonald's for comment.

Moreover, Trump has made no secret of his affinity for Big Macs, and has often extolled the virtues of fast food restaurants due to their uniform standards and cleanliness. Other companies that have been previously boycotted by Trump supporters include Nordstrom, Starbucks and Budweiser.
