According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Butler is the favorite in this game, as the Bulldogs are getting odds of -11 points against Winthrop. However, the Bulldogs look to snap a modest two-game losing streak and make amends from a quick exit in the Big East Tournament when the fourth seed in the South Region opens NCAA Tournament play Thursday in Milwaukee against 13th-seeded Winthrop in the first round. Senior forward Andrew Chrabascz is the leader of the team on the floor and averages 11 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Kelan Martin leads the team in scoring with16.1 points (PPG) and in rebounding with 5.7 rebounds (RPG).

Winthrop got the automatic bid by winning the Big South Tournament. Winthrop has won eight straight coming into March Madness.

Winthrop is no stranger to this stage and they feel they're more than ready enough to make a Cinderella run in the tournament.

Avery Woodson scored 18 points and tied a career high with six 3-pointers in his NCAA Tournament debut to lead Butler to a 76-64 win over Winthrop on Thursday.

Three players are averaging at least 8.3 points per game for Winthrop, they are: Johnson (22.5), Xavier Cooks (16.3) and Anders Broman (8.3) per game. Xavier Cooks adds 16.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest. They swept Villanova during the season, but also lost to Indiana State, St. John's and Georgetown. Johnson is a guy who can catch fire and take over games, and in March it's all about how far your guards can carry you. March offers the most unknown of surprises every year and this game has the potential to provide some magical moments.
