While the specific route President Trump will travel is not being disclosed for security reasons, citizens can expect roadways between Nashville International Airport and The Hermitage to be temporarily closed at some point between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Traditionally, the White House sends a wreath to be laid on Jackson's tomb on March 15.

President Donald Trump has scheduled another campaign rally, this time in Nashville, Tennessee. Harry Truman may have visited before being elected president.

Trump will be speaking from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. On Trump's fifth day in office, he hung a portrait of Jackson in the Oval Office, according to CNN.

There are clear limits to the Trump-Jackson comparison, however. "That's the great Andrew Jackson, who actually was a great general, and he was a great president - but a controversial president". White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon called Trump's inauguration speech "Jacksonian", and said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter that "like Jackson's populism, we're going to build an entirely new political movement". Like Trump, Jackson rallied enormous numbers of Americans together while pursuing a populist agenda. "Not a day goes by without at least one or more articles about Jackson that pop up in Google alerts". Jackson won the popular vote in 1824 but none of the four candidates won the electoral college. Like Jackson, he ultimately prevailed.

"Jacksonians are skeptical about the United States' policy of global engagement and liberal order building - but more from a lack of trust in the people shaping foreign policy than from a desire for a specific alternative vision", argued Walter Russell Mead.
