Capcom today announced that six of its most popular 8-bit NES classic games will be ported over to consoles and PC next month-all current consoles except the Nintendo Switch.

Some of the finest licensed 2D platformers in the late '80s and early '90s came of Capcom's deal with Disney, and now a bunch of them are coming back.

All six games are new and improved HD versions of the originals and feature a number of filtering options that replicate a classic retro look and feel. Boss rush and time-attack modes will be included for each game, and you'll also have the ability to rewind your mistakes instead of replaying an entire level (though purists are free to play the oldschool way). These games were originally released on the NES and were based off hit Disney cartoons.

The Disney Afternoon Collection will include such classic NES Capcom games as the immortal Duck Tales (woo-ooo!), Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. These were once my jam, and they shall be my jam anew. You can also explore a museum that contains concept art, game soundtracks, and advertisements for each of the games. Each game will have a Boss Rush mode, allowing players to battle all of the game's bosses consecutively.

There's also a new Rewind feature that aims to make the games more accessible for newcomers. You might want to wait and see how The Disney Afternoon Collection fares with critics before plunking down your $20. The Disney Afternoon Collection will be available as a digital download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. "Rewind" will allow players to hold a button and go back in time.
