Samsung Galaxy S8 Would Make iPhone 7 Look Dirt Cheap

What we already know is that the Galaxy S8 will be launching two models, a 5.8-inch and a 6.2-inch display, featuring WQHD+ resolutions. The real "pressure to perform" this year will come not only from its usual rival, the new iPhone Edition from Apple, but also from Google Pixel 2 launching later this year.

Based on the FCC documents, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is registered in three different variations carrying model numbers such as SM-G950U, SM-G950U1 and SM-G950W. The sides of the mobile in this leaked image curve downwards, in common with other recent Samsung releases, with the bezels above and below the screen extremely slim indeed.

Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the processors used in the US, China and Japan will be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 whereas in parts of Asia, likely Thailand and throughout Europe it will be Samsung's own Exynos 8895 processor. And Kuo expects that the Galaxy S8 will lack features that "could ... be a [big] draw" for prospective buyers. As soon as Samsung had heard about the iPhone rumor of previous year, "Samsung had made all-out efforts to embed a fingerprint scanner under the display to allow users to unlock the phone by placing their finger on the screen, not the physical home button". Kuo's suggested, too, that the upcoming iPhone will be the first to support new 3D image capture tech from Apple's augmented reality engineering team, and that it will eschew the familiar home screen button with a multi-purpose "function area".

The Galaxy S8 is looking like it'll be even smaller/slimmer than the G6, which makes sense since it has dual-curve displays.

Additionally, pictures of the gold Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus surfaced on Weibo. This update brings the February 2017 security patch to these devices.

Samsung plans to unveil the S8 smartphone on March 29 in NY and London.

Months before its launch, Samsung Galaxy S8 started surfacing on the internet, making news across the globe. The bottom of Galaxy S6 is similar to the iPhones.
