Paige VanZant Praises Michelle Waterson, Promises She'll Be Back

The win was the third for Mr. Gall (4-0) in as many fights in the UFC while also further solidifying his standing as one of the up-and-comers to watch out for in the welterweight division.

'Sacramento I love you, ' said Faber.

VanZant gave up her back, and Waterson fought to lock in the choke. In the other two fights, she lost 1-1 against Rose Namajunas over a year ago but just to rebound and knock over Bec Rawlings in August. "And then if none of those worked, getting back up, not wasting any time just in a neutral position".

With VanZant in her grasp, Waterson executed a handsome head & arm throw and brought the fight to the ground.

VanZant may be a very skilled fighter, but Saturday's result proves that she still has a lot to learn in MMA.

Bizarrely, the outspoken newcomer called for a bout with former welterweight contender Dan Hardy in his post-fight interview, despite the Brit not stepping into the Octagon for over four years.

On her plans moving forward: "I was meant for the spotlight, and I'm going to continue to be in the spotlight".

Following a few exchanges on the feet it was VanZant who locked up in the clinch with Waterson but she may have regretted that decision just a few moments later. She said on Saturday that she wants to enjoy the holidays with her family, but then she will be ready to go in 2017 whenever the UFC asks. "I'm in great condition".

The 30-year-old American announced herself on the UFC stage with a dominant display as referee John McCarthy stopped the fight with VanZant refusing to tap out.
