Temecula Church Holds First Annual Pet Fair and Blessing of the Animals

Neumann University will host a blessing of animals in Aston Delaware County on Oct. 2

Continuing a tradition of many years, St. Francis' Episcopal Church will have a Blessing of the Pets from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds at 237 E. Porter Ave. The Pet Fair will be followed by the First Annual St. Thomas Pet Fair from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.

St. Paul Church, 935 E. State St., Salem: Does your pet need a blessing? Your pets are welcome at St. Thomas anytime.

Following the blessing of the animals, there will be a special pet reception with refreshments, door prizes, and the chance for people and their pets to mingle. The community is invited to bring their "well behaved" animals to be blessed by guest Rector Amanda Bordenkircher from Corpus Christi Episcopal Church in Okahumka.

"These creatures are our companions and friends and we, as loving humans, can learn from them, especially when it comes to living in the moment".

There will be pets available for adoption, rescue groups, youth groups, service animal groups and a veterinary office participating.

All pets should be well-behaved, current on all vaccinations, and either leashed or otherwise contained in a carrier, pet crate, etc., depending on the type of pet you have.

Additionally, the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter will attend the event. Cats and kittens now available for adoption will also be present.
