Guardiola: De Bruyne out for up to 3 weeks for Man City

The Manchester City players were training on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League game against Celtic this week.

The 7-0 thrashing at the Camp Nou in the last Champions League outing may not seem like the ideal blueprint for Wednesday night's game, but Brendan Rodgers should stick with the back three formation (or back five, really) that he played in Spain.

The Belgian playmaker suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of City's 3-1 win at Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday that maintained their ideal start to the season.

"And I just need to be cool in front of goal and keep going, trying to score as many goals as I can to help the team".

However, on Wednesday night in front of a 60-000 sell-out Celtic Park Guardiola expects to see the Hoops side that battered Old Firm rivals Rangers 5-1 at Parkhead in the game previous to their Catalan capitulation. One feels it would have to be quite a lot of complacency for a team that shipped seven goals last time to manage a result against one that won 4-0 but Celtic must try to make the most of their home advantage. "I know how strong they are here", said Guardiola as he prepares to sample playing in Glasgow's East End for the first time. "Apart from that we have been really aggressive in our game", Rodgers told a pre-match news conference. I am very much looking forward to that.

"We won't be thinking about what happened to Celtic against Barcelona - it's not easy to go to the Camp Nou and play against one of the greatest teams in the world, especially with the quality that Barca have at the moment".

"It's a great game for us".

"Tomorrow, the game starts at 0-0 and we will see from the first minute until the final whistle to see who is the better team".

Celtic may be without goalkeeper Dorus de Vries for the match against City after the Dutchman failed to reappear after the break in the win over Killie.

"It was completely different to the way they played in Barcelona, which was more passive".

Celtic will look to lean on the 60,000-capacity crowd to try to give them any kind of advantage over such stellar opposition but Summerbee felt the surrounds could actually work in City's favour. This is two weeks ago - professional players when you win, the day after, two days after you have another game and you are focused on that.
