Manning hits Cruz for go-ahead TD, Giants top Cowboys 20-19

The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Landover, Maryland, on Sunday to take on the Washington Redskins in a matchup that will feature two winless teams. They held Cowboys rookie running-back Ezekiel Elliott to only 51 yards on 20 carries and the team to only 101 yards rushing.

Jennings said playing for keeps was one of the biggest differences in getting the running game going.

"Everything is fine, not fine, but is on go", Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently said about Romo's status, per Charean Williams of the Star-Telegram. In the ultimate twist of fate, veteran QB Tony Romo injured his back three plays into the third preseason game. Alabama football has two more wins on the Cowboys' home turf since last Labor Day Weekend than America's Team does. "A lot of it has to do with what I saw from Dak and really what I saw overall. So it doesn't remind me of a year ago as far as our ability to be a real good offensive team".

Dallas needed to stop the clock, but Williams caught the ball and headed up field and the Cowboys were unable to set up and spike the ball to possibly set up a 62-yard game-winning field goal by Dan Bailey.

Dez didn't catch it: Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant had an apparent 24-yard touchdown catch from Prescott overturned on review in the first half when the replay showed the ball coming loose as he landed and slid out of bounds in the end zone. "You never want to knock a guy trying to make a play". Only five of those passes were thrown in Bryant's direction.

Prescott didn't make many mistakes. "Not until we play them again". "We'll continue to attack Dez and go after them in those coverages when they give them to us".

Dallas got the ball with around 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter up six points in position to put the game out of reach. "We're just excited to be on the field together", Cruz said. I look forward to seeing what Prescott does next week in the game for the Cowboys.

Something else had a familiar feeling to previous year: one of those what-just-happened plays. The Giants were lucky that Terrance Williams didn't get out of bounds or go down quicker on the final play. Prescott was able to get the offense down the field.

"Drew Brees, it's insane how he is getting better every year", said Giants linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who played with Brees on the Saints. "That doesn't minimize the loss".

The last time Cruz was on the field in a game that counted, he crumpled to the ground in pain diving for a throw from Manning on October 12, 2014, at Philadelphia.
