Eid al-Adha holiday: How many days is it by country?

Speaker in messages to his Muslim counterparts on the occasion of Eid al-Adha said strengthening friendly ties among Islamic countries is the only way to bypass the current hard situation.

This Eid is highlighted by sacrificing of domestic animals (usually a cow, but can also be a camel, goat, sheep, or ram depending on the region) as a symbol of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his only son.

This will allow Muslims to make the hajj pilgrimage.

In the period around Eid al-Adha, many Muslims travel to Mecca and the surrounding area in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

The proximity of Eid, which is determined by a lunar calendar, and the remembrance of 9/11 comes amid a heightened concern about Islamaphobia in the wake of attacks by ISIS overseas and the rise of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at home.

Eid al-Adha has been celebrated in Minnesota since the early 1900s.

When is Eid al-Adha?

Citing security sources, Moroccan daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia said that the raise of the alert to its highest level is motivated by the growing threats the country is facing from the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group. "I am confident that this year's Eid al-Adha too will mark a triumph of the national and moral solidarity, noble deeds, and the feelings of compassion and mercy in our society".

Trump claimed that he saw Muslim-Americans celebrating the attacks in New Jersey 15 years ago.

Still, it is no secret that most, if not all, of us had a BIG sigh a relief when Eid was announced to be on September 12.

- Philippines: three-day long weekend holiday, from Saturday, September 10 until Monday, September 12. I pray that day comes and comes soon.
