The Right Name With The Wrong Design — Microsoft Surface Phone

Here Are The Specifications For The Highly Anticipated Microsoft Corporation Surface Phone

Now, according to a report by iTechPost, the $450 billion company plans to announce the new Surface Phone at the IFA 2016 conference in Berlin this week. Released in November of a year ago, the Lumia devices underperformed, prompting Microsoft to finally ditch the brand it purchased from Nokia, and instead focus on reviving its own and rebranding it as part of the Surface series of devices. Upcoming devices such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Microsoft Surface Book 2 and the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Phone have all been in the rumor mill for a while now.

The yearly event, which is scheduled to run until September 7, is known to highlight new consumer electronics releases.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has seen its share of rumors over the past few months as the company is expected to release its next-generation smartphone later this year.

According to Vine Report, although a rumor of an IFA reveal is rife; several reports have also surfaced suggesting that Microsoft may hold a press event next month to introduce the new Surface Phone. With Samsung's latest installment, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, and Apple's upcoming smartphone, the iPhone 7, fans are now getting pretty anxious to know who will come out to the top with the strongest flagship. The Surface Phone is said to be replacing the Lumia 950 and the 950 XL devices which was released last November 2015.

Yibada reports that the phone is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. Some reports claim that the new device will come with the Snapdragon 830 chipset or the Intel Atom Apollo Lake chipset.

Nonetheless, several reports have already emerged revealing the possible specs of the new Microsoft smartphone.

It is also expected that the device will come with an improved hinge as the said part of the current device, also known as the fulcrum hinge, failed to get the nod of many of its users because of the problems it causes. It is also believed that Microsoft will release three different versions of its Surface Phone: an entry-level version with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, a mid-range version with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory, and a high-end version with 8GB RAM and 500GB of internal memory.
